ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Erin is an Artist-in-Residence with Our Collective Practice and is working to transform their new written publication of over 100 “Stories of Girls’ Resistance” into monologues as performance art.
Erin leads the Constellations Culture Change Fund & Initiative, housed at The Center for Cultural Power. Constellations is a social justice narrative and cultural strategy fund that redistributes resources to BIPOC artist disruptors, culture bearers and cultural strategy organizations across the US.
Previously at Global Fund for Women and the International Women’s Health Coalition (now For Feminista), Erin led global strategies to resource activists and gender justice movements advancing sexual and reproductive justice, adolescent girls’ rights, feminist technology, and UN Generation Equality Forum accountability. As a mentor and coach, Erin works alongside her philanthropic colleagues to deepen their collective value alignment on trust-based and participatory grantmaking and on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
As a Black mixed-race radical listener, philanthropic advisor, and change navigator, Erin has lived and worked in Canada, Belgium, Botswana, Jamaica and the US, has direct experience as a coalition director to end gender-based violence, a pregnancy options counselor, and a youth sexuality educator. She weaves her love of music, dance, theatre, mindfulness and somatic practice into all aspects of her life and work.
Erin holds a Master of Social Work from Carleton University and a graduate certificate in Principles and Practices of Organization Development from Columbia University. She speaks English and French, is motivated by cultivating deep relationships and trust, and tries her best to live up to these words by Kay Ryan, “Intention doesn’t sweeten. It should be picked young and eaten.” Erin is an Aries rising, has her sun in Cancer, and her moon in Aquarius.
