Gatherings

There is power in coming together for our individual and collective care and as a strategy for community building. By co-creating and designing spaces and how we gather in them, we have the opportunity to reflect together, create collective analysis, develop connections and build solidarity.

Stories of Girls’ Resistance Exhibit Pop-up Tour

The Stories of Girls' Resistance art exhibit is a reflective and immersive exhibit grounded on the power of girls’ resistance. Through visual installations of art and quotes, participants are invited to explore and reflect on what it means to exist and resist as a girl.

The exhibit has been showcased in the United States (2019), Sierra Leone (2022), Mexico (2022), and Rwanda (2023). Co-organisers and partners include Purposeful, SUKUAMIS, and Shake the Table.

“If I can’t dance, it ain’t my revolution”

APRIL 26, 2024 – TBILISI, GEORGIA

Art is a form of resistance, survival, healing, and a political agenda against the systems seeking to erase our very existence. Grounded in the power and revolutionary force of feminist art and storytelling, join us at the Human Rights Funder Network Festival to celebrate and learn from the stories of girls and young feminist resistance.

Co-organized by Stories of Girls’ Resistance, Giuvlipen Theatre Company, HRFN, Our Collective Practice, and Urgent Action Sister Funds, this evening will kick-off with an immersive performance and exhibit curated by the Roma theatre company, Giuvlipen Theatre Company. We will continue to dance through the night, celebrating community and care with a feminist DJ.
