Dreaming and Worldbuilding Game
A GAME INSPIRED AND SEEDED BY AND WITH GIRLS AND YOUNG FEMINISTS
The Dreaming & Worldbuilding Game is a portal into worlds you can collectively create, weaving the past, present, and future. Inspired and seeded by and with girls and young feminists, this game is grounded in the foundational principles and tactics underpinning girls’ and young feminists’ resistance, power, and dreams.
Why Dream?
For most of history, and even today, the world - as we know it - has tried to shrink girls’ dreams. It pushes girls to dream smaller, and sometimes, not dream at all. We believe that while the current world may attempt to shape and stifle girls’ dreams, the very dreams they hold onto, even against all odds, can—and are—shaping and nurturing new worlds.
With this belief, we ask:
WHAT WOULD THE WORLD BE IF IT SUPPORTED THE DREAMS OF GIRLS AND YOUNG FEMINISTS?

Inspired by girls
Girls’ and young feminists' dreams, resistance, and power have and continue to transform the world — sparking from their unwavering questioning, refusal and demands challenging injustices and working to dismantle the systems that harm them and their communities.
THE GAME INVITES THE CURIOSITY, QUESTIONING, RECREATING, LEARNING, AND UNLEARNING THAT GIRLS AND YOUNG FEMINISTS PRACTICE EVERY DAY.
It invites us to collectively dream and reimagine everything we have been told or thought we knew. This game is for anyone who desires to challenge systems that attempt to strip us of our power to dream and imagine new worlds.

Begin to Dream and Worldbuild
The Dreaming & Worldbuilding Game is designed as a collective experience—facilitated by one or more people, documented by observers, and played by anyone who dares to dream and worldbuild. The guidebook and facilitation manual provide step-by-step support for how to use the World and Role cards effectively in your space.
“The world I envision is filled with love and where we grow together. We are slowly moving like nature, learning from nature and looking at nature.”
– A dreamscape that emerged from playing this game, Ivyone (Duwamish Land / Seattle)

This Game was developed by Kruthika N.S. during her art residency with Our Collective Practice, and thoughtfully reviewed and piloted by Asha Athman, Augustina Mihaela Vasile, Banan AbuZainEddin, Gabrielle Bailey, Jimena Alejandra Aon, Juliana Roman Lozano, Nyawira Wahito, Priyanka Samy, Purity Kagwiria, and Zeedah Meierhofer-Mangel. It was developed in deep collaboration with hundreds of girls and young feminists from across diverse communities who said yes to the invitation to dream and worldbuild with us—helping us test and refine earlier versions of the game.
The game has been facilitated in over eight countries—Argentina, India, Georgia, Jordan, Kenya, Romania, Tanzania, and Turtle Island (U.S.)—in collaboration with community-led groups and organizations. Shaped by the surreal dreamscapes and expansive visions of girls and young feminists across the globe, the game not only stretched the imagination but also revealed powerful insights into the values they hold most dear and what becomes possible when we step into collective dreaming. A selection of these dreams came to life in Kruthika’s final residency exhibit—an immersive installation featuring textile collage, film, and storytelling.
